Our History

Universal Brands is a leading wholesaler of beauty products, with more than 20 years’ experience sourcing products in China.

Beginning in Melbourne, Australia, we quickly established a reputation in the market for providing top-quality health and beauty products, delivered on time and at a competitive price.

While our core business is working as bath gift product suppliers, we are constantly growing our capabilities as natural kids’ play makeup and licensed beauty product manufacturers and wholesalers of cosmetic bags.

Universal Brands has achieved many milestones since its inception in 1998 including:

2004

  • Opening our office in Shenzhen, China.

2005

  • Received first order from Walmart USA (private label).
  • Received first FMCG orders from Coles Australia (private label).

2006

  • Received first order from Walmart Canada (licence product and house brand).

2007

  • Received first order in the UK for bath gift sets (house brand).
  • Opened account with Woolworths (Top Gear licence product).

2008

  • Shipped 1 million units in gift.
  • Received first orders from Aldi Australia (license product and house brand).

2009

  • Received first order from Galeries Lafayette (Paris).

2010

  • Shipped 4 million units in gift and skin care.

2011

  • Shipped 4.5 million units in gift and skin care.
  • Opened our USA office in Fort Worth, Texas.

2012

  • Received our first orders from Walgreen.
  • Shipped 2.7 million units of colour cosmetics.

2013

  • Secured first global licence for Walking with Dinosaurs.
  • Delivered 40 new lines in everyday beauty for Coles Australia (778 stores).

2014

  • Expanded office in China by 30 percent to better serve our customers’ needs.

2015

  • Expanded in Canada to supply over 2000 stores.

2016

  • Closed Australian office to focus on factory-direct sourcing based in China.

2017

  • Started family legacy, with owners’ daughters leaving their professions to join Universal Brands.
